How to Securely Attach a Basketball to the Shooting Correction Machine

This guide explains how to properly attach a basketball to the Shooting Correction Machine using epoxy adhesive.
Following these steps carefully will ensure a strong, durable, and safe connection.

Important Information

  • A basketball is included as a gift with your purchase
  • Any standard basketball can be used on the machine
  • You may also attach your own basketball
  • Proper attachment is essential for safe and effective training

⚠️ Do not use the machine until the adhesive has fully cured.

Materials Needed

  • Two-part epoxy adhesive
  • Mixing container
  • Stirring stick
  • Protective gloves
  • Clean cloth
  • Sandpaper (optional)

Step 1: Surface Preparation

  • Make sure the basketball surface and the machine arm are clean and dry
  • Remove dust, oil, or moisture using a clean cloth
  • If the surface is very smooth, lightly sand it to improve adhesion

Proper surface preparation is critical for a strong bond.

Step 2: Mixing the Epoxy Adhesive

  • Use a two-part epoxy adhesive
  • If no instructions are provided, mix at a 1:1 ratio (equal parts resin and hardener)
  • Stir thoroughly until the mixture has a uniform consistency

⚠️ Do not rush this step. Poor mixing weakens the bond.

Step 3: Application & Bonding

  • Apply an even layer of epoxy to:
    • The basketball contact area
    • The machine arm ball mount
  • Carefully position the basketball onto the arm
  • Press firmly to ensure full contact

Wipe away any excess epoxy before it hardens.

Step 4: Curing Process

  • Hold the basketball in place briefly to prevent movement
  • Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours
  • For maximum strength, allow up to 48 hours of curing time

✅ Ideal curing temperature: 68–77°F (20–25°C)
❌ Do not move or use the machine during curing

Final Check Before Use

Before training:

  • Confirm the basketball is firmly attached
  • Gently test for movement — there should be none
  • Ensure the ball rotates smoothly

If the ball feels loose, do not use the machine and repeat the process.

Helpful Tips

  • Always wear gloves when handling epoxy
  • Avoid over-applying adhesive
  • Never rush the curing process
  • Do not expose the bond to extreme heat or cold while curing
